The prepuce

Visit http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/journal/119091418/abstract

Article by C.J. Cold, MD, and J.R. Taylor published in British Journal of Urology (now BJI International), Vol. 83, Supp. 1, pp. 34-44, 1983. DOI: 10.1046/j.1464-410x.1999.0830s1034.x  The authors describe the prepuce as a common anatomical structure of both male and female genitalia. The authors discuss the embryology, anatomy, and function of the prepuce.  Based on the complex anatomy and the function of the prepuce, or foreskin, the authors advise against neonatal (infant) circumcision. The state that the removal of normal genital anatomy in children and infants should be deferred until the individual can make their own informed choice.

What Is the Foreskin?

Visit http://www.enotalone.com/article/3509.html

An article by Paul M. Fleiss, M.D., and Frederick M. Hodges about the male foreskin. The two provide a detailed description of the foreskin and how it functions with the rest of the penis.

The article discusses what is the foreskin, how big is the foreskin, what does the ridged band do, why is the foreskin attached and not retractable for young children, and what are the specialized nerver receptors in the foreskin. With the circumcising culture in the United States, very little is known about the foreskin, how it works, and why it is there. Dr. Fleiss and Fred Hodges answer many of the questions people have about the foreskin.

This video is from the UK company that makes the SenSlip, a manufactured artificial foreskin designed to protect the mucosa so it will shed the keratinized skin. The SenSlip is a fast fix to de-keratinize the penis. Using the SenSlip is useful to quickly show men the benefits of covering the penis with a foreskin by letting them experience more sensation. Many men decide that it is worth the time and effort to restore their foreskin (growing new skin) by applying tension.

Care of the foreskin for intact infants, boys, and men

Basic Care of the Intact Child

Visit http://www.drmomma.org/2010/01/basic-care-of-intact-child.html

Thorough and detailed information on how to care for a boy with an intact penis, that is, a boy who is not circumcised. At first, an infant does not require any special care of his intact penis - just wipe like a finger. Care of a circumcised infant is much different because the circumcision wound must be handled carefully and kept clean as it heals. The article notes that the foreskin may not retract naturally until after the boy is 10 years old or older.

Clinical features and management of recurrent balanitis; association with atopy and genital washing.

Study published in Genitourin Med. (currently Sexually Transmitted Infections), 1993 October; 69(5): 400–403. This study shows that using soap to wash under the foreskin contributes to balanitis.

For 72% of the patients with recurrent balinitis, "a diagnosis of irritant dermatitis was made. In comparison with the remaining patients, they had a greater lifetime incidence of atopic illness and more frequent daily genital washing with soap. For 28 (90%) of these patients, use of emollient creams and restriction of soap washing alone controlled symptoms satisfactorily."

Adult Circumcision Outcomes Study: Effect on Erectile Function, Penile Sensitivity, Sexual Activity and Satisfaction

Visit http://www.jurology.com/article/S0022-5347(05)65098-7/abstract

Study published in the Journal of Urology, Volume 167, Issue 5, Pages 2113-2116 (May 2002).  The study's purpose was to determine the effect of the prepuce (foreskin) on sexual intercourse. The researchers examined sexual function outcomes in men who experienced sexual intercourse in the uncircumcised and circumcised states.

The study chose as subjects men who were circumcised for medical reasons. Only 7% of the men were circumcised as elective surgery. Even with such a large proportion of the subjects being circumcised for having problems with their foreskin, 38% reported that it was worse being circumcised.

Penile Sensitivity and Sexual Satisfaction after Circumcision: Are We Informing Men Correctly?

Visit http://content.karger.com/ProdukteDB/produkte.asp?Aktion=ShowAbstract&ArtikelNr=85930&Ausgabe=230970&ProduktNr=224282

The male subjects were circumcised for a benign desease. Penile sensation got worse for 18% of the men who got an adult circumcision. Only 61% of the men were satisfied with their adult circumcision. Considering that circumcision was for a disease, it is significant that not more men were satisfied with the cure.

Sex as Nature Intended it, a look at why foreskin is important and circumcison robs both partners Sex As Nature Intended It: The Most Important Thing You Need to Know About Making Love, is a book authored by Kristen O'Hara.

Chapter 8a, The Normal Thrusting Rhythm of the Natural Penis vs. The Abnormal Thrusting Rhythm of the Circumcised Penis: How It Affects a Woman's Sexual Pleasure during Intercourse is reproduced on the website.

I believe that once women come to realize how important the natural penis is to their sexual pleasure and love-relationship happiness, that the key to a woman's sexual ecstasy is the foreskin of the penis, that foreskin restoration by the man  will allow them to experience new joys from intercourse that they never thought possible, they will want their men to have foreskins.

Effects of male circumcision on female arousal and orgasm

Article published in Journal of the New Zealand Medical Association, September 12, 2003, Vol 116, No. 1181. Women reported that they are significantly more likely to experience vaginal dryness during sexual intercourse with circumcised men than with genitally intact men. The authors thought that the vaginal dryness becomes more apparent as women get older.

The authors concluded "Most likely, reported vaginal dryness and the related clinical designation female arousal disorder is but a normal female response to coitus with a man with an iatrogenically deficient penis." An iatrogenically deficient penis is one that has been circumcised.

Sexual Functions of the Foreskin

Visit http://www.sexasnatureintendedit.com/10F/Foreskin_Function.html

A page on the Sex as Nature Intended It website describing the sexual function of the foreskin. This page provides simple tests that people can take to see how the foreskin functions. For example, the page describes how to feel the difference between fine touch nerves and pressure sensitive nerves by touching the lips and cheeks. The intact penis has both fine touch nerves and pressure sensitive nerves. Unfortunately, circumcision removes much of the fine touch nerves and if the shaft skin is tight, prevents the proper stimulation of the pressure sensitive nerves.
