Foreskin restoration site RestoringForeskin.org is one year old today. Restoring Foreskin.org is a site dedicated to men who wish to undo the damage and harm caused by their circumcision.
One year and two weeks ago, the popular foreskin restoration site RestoreForeskin.org announced that it was shutting down in two weeks. Craig, the site admin, was not responding to anyone's request for information and offers to take over the site.
I was the first person to post a request for help in building a new site. There was not much time. If a new site was to be built before RestoreForeskin.org shut down, it would require more than one person. QBMan, a Canadian restorer, stepped up and volunteered. Others volunteered to be beta testers. We quickly got to work.
Two others on RestoreForeskin.org decided to go it alone and started their own sites. Foodin65 started MyForeskin, which is morphing into MyForeskin2. bpowers84 started RestoreForeskin2.
QBMan and I worked 16 to 20 hours day for those two weeks to get a shell of a site up and running before RestoreForeskin.org shut down. We continued working lots of hours to test the site and to add features. A handful of members of RestoreForeskin.org joined RestoringForeskin.org. The site slowly grew the first several months, which was good because QBMan and I were still building the site. Finally, after about 2 months of effort, RestoringForeskin.org was finished, or at least as finished as any evolving website can be. QBMan moved on to other projects. I am deeply indebted to him for his help. I could not have built the site to what it is without his help.
RestoringForeskin.org has changed since it first came online. I have added features and increased the information on the a public side of the site. I am planning to upgrade and update of the software, along with adding new features.
From a handful of members, RestoringForeskin.orghas grown to almost 1300 active members. The site continues to grow.
