I am a circumcised man that hates his circumcision

Unhappy about being circumcised at birth - I want my foreskin!I spend too much time surfing the 'net. And, as an intactivist, I read a lot of blogs related to circumcision. I frequently come across a comment that the person has never met a circumcised man who was unhappy with his circumcision. Hello. Now you have met one. I do not like my circumcision. I do not like being circumcised.

I was circumcised more than 50 years ago. It was something that was done to most infant boys at the time. For most of my life, I never thought about my circumcision status. My penis worked, at least, I thought it did. I know it gave me lots of pleasure. At least it did when I was younger.

I remember in my twenties when I ejaculated I could not bear to have my glans touched because it was hypersensitive at that time. As I reached my late thirties and early forties, I noticed that my glans did not have the hypersensitivity after ejaculation. As my forties flew by I noticed it became more and more difficult to ejaculate during sex. My glans was turning dry and leathery. I had much less sensitivity in my glans and penis. There was only one small spot on my corona where there was any sensitivity. The rest of my glans was less sensitive than a finger.

During sex I would pump and pump and, finally, I would ejaculate. Sex took a long time. My wife confessed that I took too long during sex. That did not help at all. I had no trouble masturbating because I could easily stimulate myself with my hand. But, when I was inside my wife, there just was not enough stimulation. Sex became a lot less pleasurable than it was 20 years earlier, even 10 years earlier.

As I approached my 50s, I started having trouble keeping an erection during sex. I can understand why dry sex is practiced in Africa. I was most stimulated when my wife dried up. But, that just made things worse for her. My sex life pretty much was dead before I reached 50. I thought this was part of the aging process. After all, I noticed other problems as I got older. My prostate was troubling me. I was not moving as well as I was when younger. Less sexual satisfaction was just one more thing. But, my loss of sexual satisfaction was not age related.

Why was this really happening to me? It was my damn circumcision! Many men are reporting similar problems. Some of the greatest harm of circumcision happens years after the cut. Years of the sensitive mucous membranes rubbing against our clothing, rubbing against our bedsheets. The calloused layer growing thicker and thicker on our glans so that we feel less and less. Because of circumcision our sex organ is not working well because it is missing an important part: our foreskin.

As I wrote elsewhere in this blog, I learned about foreskin restoration. Now that I am restoring my foreskin and have some slack skin, the problems I used to have are almost all gone. Sex is pleasurable once again. My wife enjoys sex, again. And, so do I.

What's the difference? I am no longer fully circumcised. I am not intact, but I am close to it. Having a foreskin, even a restored one, made me realize just how much I had lost from being circumcised. I hated being circumcised before. Now that I know how much better having a foreskin feels, I hate being circumcised even more.
