Call for help from Intact America

IntactAmerica Sa NO! to circumcision. Protect baby boys from genital cuttingThere is still time to support a great outfit. If not this year, then next year.

I received the following letter from Georganne Chapin, the Executive Director of Intact America.  Intact America is an organization that advocates for bodily integrity for all infants, particularly baby boys. They seek to protect baby boys from genital cutting, otherwise known as routine infant circumcision.

Georganne is seeking funds to continue their campaign to stop male infant circumcision. She writes:

We still need to raise $4,684 by midnight to keep up our efforts to stop three of the most prominent medical associations in the United States from recommending circumcision for all baby boys in 2010.

Our campaign of conscience has made amazing progress in 2009, with the help of supporters like you.

With so much on the line for baby boys in 2010, we can't stop now.

We're almost out of time – please, make a tax-deductible gift to sustain our campaign in 2010.

Your tax-deductible gift will help us:

  • Stop the CDC, AAP, and AAFP from recommending circumcision. Flawed research is driving the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) to consider the unprecedented step of recommending circumcision for all baby boys. With your help, Intact America will continue to fight this dangerous and irresponsible trend.
  • Change hearts and minds through the media. For generations, myths and misconceptions have dominated the public discourse on circumcision. With bold media outreach – efforts like our appearance on "The Today Show," our ad in The Washington Post, and the billboard truck in Atlanta – we're exposing circumcision for what it really is: unnecessary, harmful, and ethically wrong.
  • Provide a community of support for parents and baby boys. Parents face tremendous pressure to circumcise their baby boys. With your help, we're providing answers and support for parents who are trying to make healthy and ethically sound choices for their newborn sons.

For the sake of all baby boys, please help Intact America continue our work to change the way America thinks about circumcision.

Make a tax-deductible gift right now to keep our campaign against circumcision going strong in the New Year!

Thank you so much for being part of this important work.

Our best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year,

Georganne Chapin
Executive Director, Intact America

Donate Today!

Intact America is doing a fine job in the battle to stop routine infant circumcision of baby boys. Efforts of organizations like Intact America will help change the circumcision culture in the United States.

I ask all my readers to support this worthy cause. If you cannot donate in 2009, please donate in 2010.

Also, Intact America has some great materials that can be handed out to expecting parents. Check out their resource page. They have talking points and flyers, such as 10 Reasons Not to Circumcise Your Baby Boy  and Foreskin Care Guide for Parents .
